1973 el camino and new exhaust
I have 1973 el Camino with 1980 corvette 350 motor. Motor is pretty much stock but I just installed flowtech shorty headers and trying to decide what mufflers should I go with?
I'm planning on turning it down behind rear end. And I Dont want anything crazy loud. Any suggestions? Is 50 series delta flow flowmaster good choice?

The Flowmaster delta flow is a great muffler, the longer the case, the quieter it'll be.

Tail pipes will definitely keep it quieter. I ran turn downs at the axle for years. Soot builds up over time and coats everything.
I'm going with Pypes Race Pros. This is my favorite sound video of them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Bq15Uw0GwI

Tailpipes do little to nothing to hurt performance. I would put them in.

Tail pipes eliminate the "drone" you get with under car dumps or at least help reduce it.

x2 (unless you use dronemaster mufflers) tailpipes will also help keep the noise in the interior down

So I don't know if i went the right way but will find out soon. I picked up two borla mufflers (slightly used about 800 miles) for $60 already with turn downs. Guy had it on his jeep and they were too loud when he was riding without top and doors.who knows they might be too loud for me too when dumped but got to start somwhere.

That's cheap for borlas, but I've never priced used mufflers before either.

From what I can see and compare to mufflers on borla website its proxs muffler (no serial numbers found) those are only $100 new so $60 for two I thought was reasonable.

How does it sound? Is it loud and crazy?

I first dumped it before rear end and it was way too loud. Went back and had it run out the back with chrome tips. It sounds great now, just what i wonted.
