fuel gauge malfunction? Empty fuel gauge malfunction?

The fuel gauge went suddenly dead and the needle froze at the 3/4 mark. A check of the wiring doesn't indicate a sending cable or grounding issue. I assume the fuel gauge is malfunctioning. Unfortunately, Eckler's replacement fuel gauge is out of stock and they seem to be the only one who carried it. Does anyone know who made the Eckler gauge? Can the gauge be rebuilt or do they have to be replaced?

I may have a Used gauge if wanted I will look in a little while if I have it Pay shipping and its yours as I am going to Dakota digital
