Just wanted to say hi.
First gen Monte owner saying hi. I have owned several first and second gen A bodies my latest is a 71 SS 454 Monte it came from the factory tripple blue now looks more of a rust / sun faded blue. One of my favorite cars was my 75 Monte Carlo Landau. My first Monte was a tripple black 76 with buckets never got to drive it by myself due to it catching fire bummer but I was hooked and still am. Looks like a cool site you guys have got here. Does anybody know production totals for 73-77 A body cars just wondered as my 75 was highly optioned it had power widows locks dual remote mirrors pass side reclinning seat cloth seats with a checker type pattern and a few other options. I have rambled on long enough.

Re: Just wanted to say hi.
Nice to have another Monte lover on the site!
I've got the 4th Edition Standard Catalog of American Cars 1946- 1975 that lists production totals for each model. I assume there's an edition that covers 1976 and up, too.
That fabric checker-type seat pattern sounds like those on a '75 Laguna sitting in a yard up here in MN (black and white checked). The seats are actually in pretty nice shape.

Re: Just wanted to say hi.
Here is a dealer pic similar to what my 75 had my 76 had the same type only black with swivels. You just dont see as many Montes with the cloth interior.

Don't think I've ever seen a reclining passenger seat in a Monte Carlo or Chevelle/Malibu.

Re: Just wanted to say hi.
I've seen those but only in pics, bench & swivels are much more common...found this one for sale:

75 was the M/C's lowest production year
1975 Monte Carlo 258,909 (Monte Carlo S sport coupe 148,529, Monte Carlo Landau sport coupe 110,380). I'd guess that not a great many of these cars (with these seats) survive today.
