Another new guy here - Page 2 Image-2sits a little lower because I had to cut the springs to fit the different style perch..had to do lots of messing around didn't realize 75 Monte Carlo and 77 Malibu brakes are different..I'm always learning something

I like the way the rear end is painted.  I painted my sway bar stone grey satin, and the diff cover is powdercoated gloss black.  But your grey rear end with the silver sway bar looks fresh.Clapp btw unless you use it, it would look better if you lose the trailer hitch.

Welcome!  I like the green paint, reminds me of our old 77 Malibu from a long time ago.

Thought about putting a hitch on mine, but I don't think I will.  At least not for now.  Would have to put on air shocks or something if I did.

Another new guy here - Page 2 Image-5The old control arms were rusty and twisted..had a patch welded on and everything. I had to cut one out the bolt was so seized that drilling and pounding wasn't gonna get it...glad I swapped that stuff it couldn't have been safe.

Yeah the monte had smaller shoes but also smaller wheel cylinders ..even the bolts were 1/4" not 5/16" like the Malibu rear. I believe the springs and actuator stuff was the same..I don't know ..it fit..haven't tried it yet..lol

I can vouch for the sway bar as I have one from a '95 impala SS on my '74.  1 inch vs 7/8 factory. A nice improvement for a lot less than a aftermarket replacement.  Mine was $40.00 from the bone yard.

Another new guy here - Page 2 Image-7Hitch is gone...looks better. Luckily every bolt holding it on snapped right off so I didn't have to pull the bumper off to get on them.

Another new guy here - Page 2 Image-8Just drove around the block and everything seems good..too bad the roads are salty or I'd go cruising around. Now it's time to put on my new intake and fuel pump and hope my back ordered carb gets here..could be another month..plenty of time to be ready for it.

Lovin it. Car looks great so far. One day I will have a garage and can work on my car without freezing my ornaments off... Got snow on the ground this morning, but its melting fast.

Another new guy here - Page 2 Image-11Gonna take off the intake and carb today..new carb isn't here yet but intake is and have new fuel pump so might as well get it ready. Might redo those ugly tranny cooler lines..not that it's a show car anyway but the way the guy ran those is an embarrassment. It's a goofy radiator..lines go in from the front and I don't know what it came out of..but it works good so it's gonna stay..just don't like the crazy lines..blah

Are you going to paint or at least clear coat the intake? My experience is it makes it look nicer longer. A oil drip won't stain it it can be wiped off. Just my 2¢.

That's probably a good idea but I'm just gonna get this thing slapped in and call it good...the paint on the engine is only so-so anyway..maybe an oily intake will blend in good..lol
