Re: ideas for front springs
we can put a dana 60 in the front with some 40 inch super swampers and go boggin' ...just like old times. ha ha... although you'll have to hang on, you wouldnt want your head to dent the roof, like it did some of my mud trucks !

Re: ideas for front springs
The springs on my 78 Elky have settled down to practically nothing. Every time I hit a good sized bump its like someone hitting you in the head. I would be glad to swap the rear ones to you if they would fit your front, but I doubt it would fit. I will be buying new ones pretty soon anyway. I have a lot of work to do to the rear end and will be taking it all the way out. It is rusted quite badly and I will have a heck of a time getting the control arms off. I may wind up cutting them off. They have been soaking in PB Blaster since last November. When I get around to taking them out I would just send them to you if you pay shipping. JB

Re: ideas for front springs
chop a coil or two out of the springs you have now. it's really the only way to get a stance that you consider to be "perfect"- even if you buy some fancy and spendy aftermarket dropped springs, they might also need to be chopped a little bit to make them "just right".
otherwise i'd say to get some 94-96 Impala springs. those cars used a suspension that was very similar to the 73-77 A body. should be able to find a complete set on ebay or Craigslist that someone took out in favor of dropped springs.
