Got a little write up from the NMCA event this weekend in Martin Michigan.

This was my first outing since a catastrophic rear axle failure in Rockingham in April, plus a household move in May.

I just noticed there are 30 years between these two photos (same venue):

You picked up some new wheels along the way. How much faster has the car gotten over the years? You are the pride of the G3 world my friend. Cheers.

Thank you -

I did new wheels and lightweight buckets to offset the weight of the full cage a year ago. Saved about 100 lbs overall.

First pass in the car, in 1978, was 15.10. I had it going 14.90's by the end of the day.

Then 13.30's, then 11.80's for a long time in the 1990s. After that stuck in the 10.50-10.75 range, then a few years ago 10 flat and 9.85 under ideal circumstances (perfect weather, seats out, no front bumper kind of thing).

These last couple years it wants to go in the 9's under any conditions, allowing me to slow and hit my 10 flat index any weekend.

Thank you; no - I haven't pursued anything yet.

I have this black textured film (actual use is for rear bumper protectors) that I use on stuff. I might put a small piece of that over the cracks as a band aid.
